Evil is as evil does.
Again, I need to be posting here more and more. Rather my time spent on facebook or one of the many forums I lurk upon but truth be told, I don't have the time.
I've been wrapping up many-a-short stories for this publisher or this small press that my own personal blog, my own ghoulish ranting page as gone by the way side. I am however proud to announce that you'll be seeing more of me and my work in upcoming months via a few small press book releases, while I can't yet say who is publishing them, I'll let you all know that the two pieces are entitled "I love you" and "What we saw down at the fishing hole." The first being nothing more than a sadistic, cannibal romance and the second a coming of age zombie tale set in my home town of Red Bluff, California in the late 1960's.
With those currently waiting for their final review I've turned my attention back to my latest babies. The first entitled: "Wendigo: The Lost memoirs of a fur trapper" for those of you who don't know the story of the wendigo, here ya go:
The Weendigo was gaunt to the point of emaciation, its desiccated skin pulled tautly over its bones. With its bones pushing out against its skin, its complexion the ash gray of death, and its eyes pushed back deep into their sockets, the Weendigo looked like a gaunt skeleton recently disinterred from the grave. What lips it had were tattered and bloody [....] Unclean and suffering from suppurations of the flesh, the Weendigo gave off a strange and eerie odor of decay and decomposition, of death and corruption.
For more info, look HERE
I have no release date in mind other than the off chance I can hopefully get it out to print sometime before or during the month of All hollows.
My second project is entitled: "The Ghost of Old Man Harris and his Dusty Old Bones" which is what I like to call a "grown up children's book" which will also feature the illustrations of a yet to be named artist.
Both of these will be released via Evil Owl Press.
As for my previously mentioned projects such as the comic book series "Dead Flesh" and my movie "Road Kill" rest assured, both of those are still in the works as well. I've been playing with the idea of turning DF into a web based series (much like they did with Stephen King's 'N.') as well as a traditional, printed comic. However, the scripting for it as taken longer than both Jeff and I had expected.
As for "Road Kill" the script is on the back burner, but after some minor tweaks and rewrites, will be good to go. I'll still be directing the film and producing it via Tales Of Horror Productions
Fatally yours,
-Kevin

I'm pretty sure I should be updating this more often
But I'm not and there's nothing you can do about it.
No, really. If I'm going to be updating any site in the near future it's going to be over at Tales Of Horror Productions so, if any of you even give a rats ass about my creative life that's where to find all the details.
A while back, I begun work on a series of viral horror shorts. What I originally wanted to do was create something along the lines of the Masters Of Horror series but for the YouTube generation. This set me into a mad frenzy hunting down all who I thought were worthy of working with me.
What started out as a 12 part series got reduced to 4 shorts (three being written and directed my me, the other by my Producer.)
The three films under my control for the project where Pugs The Clown, Rose Cottage Romance and Road Kill, the later mentioned film, Road Kill was actually my third and final script that I had written for the series, ending the first draft somewhere around 32 Pages, but something wasn't right, everyone who read it seemed to point out something else that was wrong with it, so alas, on the following rewrite I'd fix the previous error while at times create a new one. This lead to multiple rewrites and many additional pages. 5 rewrites later and my short film found itself slowly turning into a feature length script.
What started out as a short film, will be my debut feature film, we begin filming Road Kill in the summer of 2011 in the small Northern California town of Red Bluff (where I grew up) through my very own Tales Of Horror Productions. How will I be funding it you ask?
Dead Flesh has a long history in my psyche, stemming back years upon years following my discovery of the wonderful horror offshoot, zombies but didn't begin to ferment until the kind folks over at Living Dead Press where kind enough to publish my short story "Scent Of Rot In The City Of Roses" in the book: Dead Worlds 6.
Dead Flesh is at the moment a 6 part comic book mini-series following a group of survivors attempts to live their life following a zombie outbreak (a la Walking Dead) the comic has been written and is currently getting inked and it will be released through ToH's sister project "Evil Owl Press" in the coming months.
Also through Evil Owl, we're also going to be releasing the book "Tales Of Horror" a short story collection, much like the ones put out by Living Dead Press and many of the other fine horror imprints.
All the profits for those two projects will be going towards the budget for "Road Kill" and now that brings another question.... What about the other 2 short films I wrote, Pugs and Rose Cottage, those will be turned over into their own stand alone comics (think Tales from the crypt or the old EC comics) so be sure you check out my site Tales Of Horror Productions for all the latest info on everything I'm involved with.

Viral Horror update!
Didn't get around to posting more details as quick as I had wanted too. I've discussed this project with a couple writing friends of mine who are now on board, I'm currently finishing up the third draft of the first script entitled "Pugs the clown" and I'm planning to begin filming that in the coming up months back in my home town of Portland.
The second, "Rose Cottage Romance" is based off of a full length that I wrote a few months back when I first moved to portland, but it never fully jelled into a finished product that I was proud of, nor would it have worked as a feature length film without dragging on that way it did. So, with anyluck, I'll be going back and gracefully trimming the 80-odd pages down to around 30/40 pages.
Aside from what others are doing I'm planning on a couple more, however that's still up in the air as of yet.

Viral Horror
I’ve tossed this idea around with my partner in crime, Jeff Meek about writing/directing a collection of short horror films, along the lines of Showtime series “Masters Of Horror” or NBC’S “Fear Itself” and releasing them via you tube and other viral video sites and with proper advertising via you tube we’d be able to finance the production of the films.
The films would be about thirty minutes in length, broken up into three ten minute episodes, done with a small cast and crew with a possible release on DVD.
I've already written a couple of the screenplays (both of basically television length 25-35 pages) with a couple more that are already being worked out as treatments.
Is there anyone out there in the digital wasteland that would be interested in such a thing? In your honest opinion would such a thing work? Let me hear it.

Let's try something new.
I've decided to take what I had on the blog off.
There's so many things going on in my life that I've been working on, so I thought it'd be best to give them a place in the digital world here. So, in the near future, I'm gonna be adding a few things such as my screenplay and a few stories and what ever else tickles my fancy.
xoxo,
-Kevin.
